Just4o.chat Files

Overview

Just4o.chat Files is your central file hub—one place for documents you upload and images the AI generates. Open it from the chat sidebar or Account → Files. Drag and drop files to upload, or use the upload area. Files are stored securely and indexed so the model can search them when you chat.

How it works: Upload PDFs, Word docs, text files, Markdown, CSV, JSON, or HTML. The system extracts text, splits it into chunks, and embeds it for semantic search. When you send a message, only the chunks most relevant to your question get injected into the prompt—not the whole file—so replies stay focused. Supported formats extract text only; no OCR or image reading.

Generations: AI-generated images from chat appear in the Just4o.chat Files manager under the Generations tab. The last 100 images are kept per account. Generations do not count toward your file count or storage limits—they're separate. Double-click to rename; use the file manager to view, download, or manage them.

Limits apply by tier: file count (how many files you can upload), max file size per upload, and total storage volume. Explorer (free) has no file uploads; paid tiers get increasing limits. See the tables below for exact numbers.

Total storage cap = max files total × max file size. Projects can use up to 10 files each, or fewer if your plan's total file limit is lower.

Project Files

Project files are files you attach to a specific project. Open the file manager from a project chat or the project's Add files control. Drag files onto the project in the sidebar to attach them, or upload and then use "Use in projects" to add them to that project.

Each project has its own attachment cap, but your tier's total file allowance still wins. In practice, a project can use up to 10 files, or fewer if your plan's total file limit is lower. Project files stay isolated—they never appear in global chats or other projects. If you have a project for a client with sensitive docs, those docs stay scoped to that project only. Delete from the file manager to remove metadata, chunks, and stored originals.

Global Files

Global files are account-level and available in all global (non-project) chats. Upload from Account → Files or the file manager modal in chat. Drag files onto "Global" in the sidebar to attach them to global scope.

Global files are not available in project chats. When you open a project and chat, the model uses only that project's files—your global files stay out. That keeps work and personal context separate. Manage global files from Account → Files: view, download, delete, or edit text files in-app. Status (processing, ready, error) and chunk count are shown for each file.
