The confusion is real because there are two different surfaces:

ChatGPT (consumer app): OpenAI is retiring GPT‑4o inside ChatGPT on February 13, 2026.
OpenAI API (developer): OpenAI is deprecating chatgpt-4o-latest on February 17, 2026.
