How it works
Web search lets the model pull real-time information from the internet when answering your questions. Turn it on in the chat composer to get live results—current events, recent news, up-to-date facts, and citations from the web.
The toggle appears in the composer next to image generation. When enabled, the model can query the web and include source links in its reply. Web search works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok-4 family models. Grok-3 and grok-code do not support web search; the toggle is disabled for those models.
Daily limits
Daily limits apply per tier: Explorer (free) has no web search; Builder gets 5 searches per day; Studio 10; Aurora 25; Pro 50. Usage resets at midnight EST.
